Everything is actually okay.
So why doesn’t it feel okay?
A peaceful Saturday hanging out at home. Nothing wrong, but instead of enjoying it, you kept noticing every little change in the house. A different tone of voice. A door closing. Someone getting unusually quiet. Your brain kept wondering, Is something about to happen?
When life has felt unpredictable for a while, calm can sometimes feel unfamiliar.
You might find yourself waiting for the next argument, crisis, or difficult day, even when there’s no sign that one is coming. Your brain has gotten really good at watching for problems.
That doesn’t mean every peaceful moment is just the quiet before something bad happens.
When you notice yourself worrying about what might happen, try bringing your attention back to what’s happening right now.
Right now, things might actually be okay.
You don’t have to spend today’s good moment preparing for tomorrow’s possible bad one. You’re allowed to enjoy the calm while it’s here.
