🧠 What is OCD?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition where a person experiences unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and feels driven to do certain actions (compulsions) to ease anxiety or feel safe.
If your parent has OCD, they might repeat the same task over and over—like checking locks, washing hands, or arranging things in a certain way. Or they may be stuck in stressful thoughts about germs, danger, or doing something wrong. It’s not just being neat or quirky—OCD can be distressing and interfere with daily life.
They may know their actions don’t make sense, but still feel like they have to do them.
