🧠 What is Eating Disorders?
Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions that affect a person’s relationship with food, body image, and self-worth. It’s not just about dieting or wanting to be thin—these disorders can take over someone’s thoughts, emotions, and health.
If your parent has an eating disorder, you may notice strange eating habits, extreme dieting, or body image obsession. They might skip meals, talk about weight constantly, or act secretive around food. It can be confusing, frustrating, or even scary to witness—but it’s not something they can just “snap out of.”
