🧠 What is PTSD?
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can happen after someone goes through a terrifying or deeply upsetting event—like abuse, violence, war, or a serious accident.
If your parent has PTSD, they may seem angry, anxious, spaced out, or emotionally distant. They might avoid certain places or people, startle easily, or relive the trauma over and over.
PTSD is not about being weak. It’s about how the brain tries to protect itself after extreme stress.
