Sometimes, without even realizing it, you become the strong one.
The one who keeps things together. The one who doesn’t make things harder. The one who pushes their own feelings aside because it feels like there’s no room for them.
It might look like helping out more than your friends do. Staying quiet when things get tense. Acting like everything’s fine at school, even when it’s not.
For a while, I told myself I was just being responsible. That I had to be the one who didn’t fall apart. But eventually, it caught up with me. I felt drained all the time, and I didn’t even know how to explain why.
Being strong all the time is exhausting.
You’re allowed to have bad days too. You’re allowed to feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or even angry about your situation. Those feelings don’t make you selfish, they make you human.
Strength doesn’t mean carrying everything on your own. Sometimes it looks like talking to someone, or even just admitting to yourself that this is hard.
You don’t have to be the strong one every second of every day. You’re allowed to be supported too.
